An AI receptionist and follow-up system for Hamilton clinics, Burlington contractors, Grimsby shops and the law offices in between. Calls answered, missed calls texted back, quotes chased, reviews requested.

AGNT/01 is an Ottawa-based AI consultancy that sets up AI receptionists, missed-call text back, lead follow-up and review requests for small businesses across the Hamilton CMA, including Burlington and Grimsby. We work remotely on Eastern time, configure every system for PIPEDA and CASL, and start each project with a free AI audit.
The Hamilton census metropolitan area ranks 9 of 41 in Canada by business locations with employees, one place ahead of Kitchener-Cambridge-Waterloo. See all Canadian cities ranked.

56.6% of Hamilton employers have one to four people on payroll. Whoever answers the phone there is usually also doing the work, so the call during a filling or a furnace swap goes to voicemail.
Statistics Canada counts each operating location separately, and some locations are not yet assigned an industry, so the industry rows are floors rather than ceilings. Every figure links to the sources list.
Hamilton is still known for steel, yet its employer count is led by care. Health care and social assistance is the largest sector in the CMA with 3,405 locations, ahead of professional, scientific and technical services at 3,214. Inside that care sector sit 1,417 offices of physicians and 455 offices of dentists, alongside the clinics that grow up around McMaster University and the city's hospital network.
That mix means appointment traffic: new patients asking if you are accepting, regulars moving a cleaning, and cancellations that leave an empty chair unless someone works the waitlist, all arriving while staff are with a patient.
The second story is the trades. Construction is third with 2,705 locations, including 685 building equipment contractors on both sides of Burlington Bay. Their lost work is the call that rings while the owner is in a crawl space; missed-call text back holds that lead until someone can call.
Then retail at 2,667, 1,509 restaurants and 490 personal care businesses live on reviews and rebookings, while 435 law offices win or lose on intake speed.
Mapped to the five largest sectors in the CMA. We build the first row that matches you, prove it on live calls, then add the next.
| Hamilton sector | Where enquiries leak | Automate first | Then add |
|---|---|---|---|
| Health care (3,405 locations) | New-patient calls during treatment; same-day cancellations left unfilled. | AI receptionist that books into the practice calendar, plus waitlist texts when a slot opens. | Recall reminders for overdue visits. See AI for dental. |
| Professional services (3,214, incl. 435 law offices) | Consultation enquiries that wait a day for a reply; no-shows. | Structured intake that captures the matter type and flags a conflict check. | Confirmation texts. See law firm intake automation in Ontario. |
| Construction (2,705, incl. 685 HVAC, plumbing and electrical) | Calls missed on site; estimates that go quiet. | Missed-call text back that qualifies the job and urgency. | Quote follow-up and review requests after completion. |
| Retail (2,667) and 1,509 restaurants | Hours, stock and reservation calls during the rush. | AI receptionist that answers routine questions and takes bookings. | Post-visit review requests. See AI for restaurants. |
| Other services (2,035, incl. 490 personal care) | Rebookings that never happen; walk-in questions by phone. | Booking by text and call, with rebooking nudges. | Reviews and reactivation for lapsed clients. |
Not sure which row you are? The free AI audit answers that in one call.
PIPEDA. Ontario has no general private-sector privacy law, so the federal PIPEDA governs customer information a Hamilton business handles in commercial activity. We write the purpose of collection into the script and keep only what the booking needs.
Health information. Ontario's Personal Health Information Protection Act covers personal health information, so clinic receptionists handle scheduling only and pass clinical questions to staff. Callers also hear up front if a call is recorded and why.
CASL. Review requests and follow-up texts carry your business name and a working opt-out, with consent logged, per the CRTC's guidance.
Law Society of Ontario. Law firms keep their competence and confidentiality duties under Chapter 3 of the Rules of Professional Conduct. Our intake never gives legal advice and collects the minimum before a conflict check. See also the LSO Technology Resource Centre.

The CMA covers three municipalities in the June 2026 count. Burlington sits in Halton Region and Grimsby in Niagara Region, but Statistics Canada groups both with Hamilton.

No. We are an Ottawa company and say so plainly.
Aniket Gandhi runs every build. There is no Hamilton office and no local sales team.
Hamilton and Ottawa both run on Eastern time, so there is no scheduling gymnastics.
Test calls and texts run against your real numbers before launch.
